About Richfield Water Softener Co.
Richfield Water Softener Co. puts a price on whole-home water softeners over the phone, for a village where every house has its own well. Here is who is behind it and how the work is divided.
Call (262) 829-5961Mon to Fri, 7am to 5pmThe company that uses the Richfield name
Behind the Richfield Water Softener Co. name is ZeroGrain Water LLC, a company organized in Wisconsin that uses it as a trade name. It has no connection to the Village of Richfield or its groundwater program; the program is cited on this site as a public source about the water under the village.
How the work is split
Our part is the phone call, the sizing, the equipment and the arranging: a whole-home softener and the brine tank that feeds it, the reverse-osmosis tap for drinking water that is included with it, and a date with a plumbing contractor licensed in Wisconsin. That contractor does the installation, because Wisconsin treats the softener's drain hookup as plumbing, under Wis. Stat. ch. 145.
No one visits to make a sale. Quotes happen Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm, and you hear the price once, during the call.
Why Richfield gets a site of its own
In most towns a softener quote can start from a utility's published hardness. Richfield has none to start from: 11,861 people, no water utility and a private well under every home. A quote here begins with your well's lab report or the reading at your tap, and the whole site is written around that.
The places it serves are Richfield, Hubertus and Colgate. An address in any of them is handled the same way: the well's own number, one price on the phone, and a licensed plumber on installation day.
Common questions
Is this the Village of Richfield's website?
No. The name belongs to a private company, not to the Village. Anything about the groundwater program is a question for the Village of Richfield itself.
